Kane County Diagnostic Center
The Kane County Diagnostic Center is the Psychology Department for the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit. It provides psychological services to juvenile and adult offenders, which include: diagnostic evaluations, crisis intervention and individual, group and family psychotherapy.
The Diagnostic Center provides the Court with expert testimony as well as consultation and training for court, and correctional and probation staff. It assists the Merit Commission by conducting screening tests for Sheriff's Deputy, Correctional Officers and Court Security applicants and provides Adult Court Services with psychological evaluations on candidates for specialized field officer positions.
The Diagnostic Center also provides an APPIC-accredited doctoral internship program and is a training site for doctoral psychodiagnostic practicum students at the clinical/forensic graduate level.
KCDC Mission Statement
The mission of KCDC is to provide necessary and relevant psychological services to the Court, its agencies and the community in accordance with the ethical principles of the American Psychological Association and to continually increase the skill and knowledge of the staff in providing these services.
Kids1st Program​, Kane County's parenting education program
KCDC also coordinates the
Kids1st Program​. This parenting education program is a Court-mandated requirement for all parents and custodians involved in pending cases where the allocation of parental responsibilities may be at issue. Call 630-232-5856 for questions or to sign up.
